"Grief changes shape, but it never ends. People have a misconception that you can deal with it and say, ‘It’s gone, and I’m better.’ They’re wrong."
形が変わるだけで、哀しみに終わりはない。何とか出来ると勘違いして『哀しい時は終わった、もう大丈夫』とか人は言けど、そんなものじゃないんだ。
"That's cool, to see people and say 'Hi' and talk about the work. That's part of the job. But when I'm on the street, I don't think I'm this actor, I don't think of any big fanfare. I'm just a guy."
人と会って映画について話すのはいい。それは仕事の一部だから。でも外出先で、自分があの俳優なんだと思ったりはしない、大きなファンファーレも期待していない。ただの一人の男に過ぎない。
"He's an alienated character in an alienated world. Part of his journey is about trying to connect, and eventually he does."
（コンスタンティンと自分に共通点があるということに関して）彼は疎外された世界の疎外されたキャラクターだ。だから彼の旅には連結しようと試みている側面がある、しかも最終的にそれを達成するんだ。
"God is like Santa Claus. If you're naughty or nice, He knows. Like the book says -- the Constantine book -- 'He works his works in mysterious ways.' Some people like it, some people don't."

"Yeah, Mr. Reeves is not so innocent anymore."
ああ、ミスター・リーヴスはもうそんなに無邪気じゃない。
"I remember sitting by the Ganges River, and they had shrines, and on the other side they have funeral pures where they bring the dead. They also have a thing called Circle of Life: There's tourists on the bridge, people burning their relatives, apartments built into stone, children playing, monkeys chasing dogs and dogs chasing monkeys, there's sightseers and Hindu priests and ascetics. They speak oftentimes of compassion, and coming into the moment of seeing life and death and permanence. I remember just sitting there and having a moment of seeing it: Seeing the beauty of life."
ガンジス河のほとりに座っていた時のことを覚えている。聖堂があって、向こう側は死者を運んでくる葬儀の清め場だった。そこには生命の輪というものもあって、橋の上には観光客がいて、人々が親戚の者を火葬に付していて、アパートは岩に埋め込むかたちのもので、子供たちが遊んでいて、猿が犬を追いかけ、犬は猿を追いかけて、観光客、ヒンズー教の僧侶、そして苦行者がいた。彼らはよく思いやりについて、生死と永遠を直視する瞬間に至ることについて語る。そこにただ座って、そういったものを見たひと時を今も覚えているよ、人生の美しさを目撃した時間だ。

"I've always considered that there's the role, and there's the actor. These two entities come together, and in th eprocess I learn about the role, and the role learns about me. So you're holding the mirror up to nature--but that nature is your own."

自分が世界一の名優じゃないことは知ってるよ。だけど、そうなろうと努めてるんだ。だからどうってことないだろうけど・・ただ努力してる。
"I'm into live and let live. It shouldn't be where you're from or how you live your life."
（モットーは）人生の只中にあってひたすら生きる。どこから来たかとか、どう人生を生きるかとかじゃない。
"If you can make a woman laugh, you’re seeing the most beautiful thing on God’s earth."
女性を笑わせることが出来たら、被造世界で最も美しいものを見ていることになるんだ。
"It is hard for me to be faithful to only one woman."
一人の女性だけに貞操を守るのは僕には難しい。
"I'm a meathead man. You've got smart people, and you've got dumb people. I just happen to be dumb."
僕は馬鹿だからね。気の利いた者に当たることもあれば、とろいのに当たることもある。僕はたまたまとろい方なんだ。（←だからご免ね、とインタヴュアーに言ってるの・・可愛いね）
"I used to have nightmares that they would put 'He played Ted' on my tombstone."
墓石に「彼はデッドを演じた」と刻まれる悪夢を見た時期がある。
